The related element control allows the designer to specify a desired connection between the element that the user is editing and another element (optionally with a specific stereotype) and with a specified connector type. The stereotype to be applied to the connector can also be specified.
In defining a Related Element control the designer should provide a unique name for their control.
The target element can be selected from a drop down list. The stereotype can be selected or entered.
The connector type must be selected (as a legal EA connector). The Connector stereotype can be selected or typed.

| • | It may be that the stereotypes do not exist in the design model - hence the ability to enter manually. |
| • | It is suggested that as part of the broader project reference data (including stereotypes) be prepared and standardised, in which case they can be exported/imported to ensure that the design models are consistent with user models. |
